Great fit if…

• You just need a stock asset with attribution. The core library of photos, vectors, icons and templates is still downloadable for free — you just need to credit the author, and a few minutes is enough to sign up and get a first download.
• You want stock and AI generation under one account. Rather than juggling a stock subscription and a separate AI image tool, Magnific's paid plans bundle the 250-million-plus asset library with AI image, video and audio generation in one place.
• You're already a Freepik subscriber. Existing accounts and subscriptions carried over unchanged through the rebrand, so nothing needs migrating.

Skip it if…

• You want free AI image or video generation. None of that is available on the free tier at all — it starts at a paid Premium plan, so anyone hoping to generate images for free will hit a wall immediately.
• You dislike brand churn. A platform that renames itself and shifts its whole positioning in the space of one release can be disorienting if you liked it specifically as "the free stock site."
• You want to compare prices across regions without surprises. Plans are billed in different currencies depending on region and login, so the number quoted to one person isn't necessarily what another sees.

As of this check, magnific.com/pricing (the page freepik.com/pricing now redirects to) shows euro pricing to an EU visitor and lists two paid individual plans, both quoted at a discounted annual rate with a higher "regular" monthly-billing price shown alongside it; the original attribution-based free downloads sit outside this AI-focused pricing table entirely.

Prices are shown excluding VAT and local taxes, and the platform notes credits roll over rather than resetting monthly; anyone comparing plans should check the figure shown at their own region's checkout rather than relying on a number quoted elsewhere.

Where it falls short

• The free tier is harder to find than it used to be. The 2026 rebrand buried the "download for free with attribution" library underneath an AI-generation product, so the free option that made Freepik's name now takes more navigating to reach.
• No free AI generation at all. Image and video generation, now the platform's main focus, isn't part of the free tier in any form — it starts at the paid Premium plan.

Privacy & data

Magnific is a cloud-based platform: stock downloads, saved projects and AI generations are tied to a user account rather than living only on a local machine, and any image or video fed into its AI tools is necessarily processed on Magnific's servers to produce a result. The company remains Spain-founded, which places it under EU data-protection law (GDPR) as an EU entity, but we could not verify specific details of its data-retention periods or whether user uploads are used to train its underlying AI models from the pricing page alone — anyone with sensitive source material should check Magnific's current privacy policy and terms directly before uploading it, rather than assume either way.
