How we check
Three facts and a five-part score, checked the same way for every app on the site.
Every app and every piece of software here goes through the same three checks, and gets the same five-part score. The answers are printed on the page with the date they were checked. Nothing is excluded for costing more than a reader might expect: every entry is priced exactly the same way, and a genuinely pricier app is listed like any other, because it deserves the real number, not a filtered one.

The score
Every entry also carries a score out of 100, made of five criteria worth 20 points each: price, ease of use, security & privacy, feature completeness, and support & reliability. Each one is judged on the app by itself — what it actually offers, not how it stacks up against a paid product from anywhere else. There is no comparison in the score, and it has no effect on where an entry appears: the lists on this site stay alphabetical regardless of what an app scores.
It is an editorial judgement, stated plainly as one, not a lab measurement — the same person writing the verdict sets the five numbers, from the same research. Two entries with similar scores can still be right for different people; read the verdict and the honest-gap list for the reasons behind the number, not just the number itself.
Where the information comes from
The renewal price, never the introductory one
A subscription advertised at a discounted rate for the first months and a higher rate after that is quoted here at the higher, renewal rate — because that is what you actually end up paying. The same rule applies on every entry.
Legal options only
Everything listed here is a legal, licensed way to use a European product: paid plans stated as such, genuine free tiers, open source software, and public-domain or ad-supported services. Piracy tools, cracked clients, key resellers and anything of that kind are never listed, linked, or described — regardless of how many people search for them.
Money
Listings are never for sale. No company can pay to be added, to be described more favourably, or to have a competitor removed. Entries are listed alphabetically, never ranked against each other. If a listing is ever sponsored it will be marked as sponsored, in plain language, on the listing itself.
The site is paid for by advertising, sponsored listings that are marked as sponsored, and paid submissions — where a company can pay to have its tool reviewed sooner. Payment buys a place in the queue and nothing else: not inclusion, not a favourable write-up, not a position.
Every price on the site is rechecked at least every 90 days, sooner if something changes in the meantime. Between checks, prices are still only the publicly listed price at the date shown on each page and can change without warning — always check with the vendor before relying on a figure here.
The badge
A free “Featured on EuropeanApps.com” badge is available to every listed company, at no cost and with no effect on how a tool is checked or scored — the same rule as everything else on this page. See the submit page for the embed code.
